SENACIT negotiates with US scientists for the rescue of more than 1500 quintals of organic fertilizer. The product was found abandoned in the warehouses of the National Bank for Agricultural Development (BANADESA).

Fulfilling the mandate of President Xiomara Castro to support food production in the country, the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACIT), managed the recovery of more than 1,500 quintals of organic fertilizer from BANADESA that is damaged.
SENACIT, through Minister Dr. Luther Castillo Harry, managed an inter-institutional alliance with the Zero Thermal Technology Group of Florida, United States, to carry out the first scientific tests and achieve the recovery of the product.
In this process, the authorities of SENACIT, BANADESA, SAG, and Mi AMBIENTE are working together with Zero Thermal, are working together with Zero Thermal, in order to contribute to the agriculture sector in Honduras.
Dr. Castillo Harry explained, “We have secured the support of this organization and its team, who have deployed their resources to carry out the tests to decontaminate the fertilizer and let it rest, in order to have a new product that will be used for agriculture”.
“It is a delicate process, which takes a lot of care, but we are confident that, with the expertise of this U.S. company, we will obtain a quality product that will provide optimum benefits for different crops,” he said.
For his part, the director of BANADESA thanked the support of SENACIT, the Secretariat of Agriculture, and the Zero Thermal Group, “We are grateful for this opportune effort that undoubtedly comes to rescue a product that we thought was lost, but thanks to science and technology we will have a new product to offer to our farmers”.
